Michael recently stood down as a Group committee member, holding the portfolio of 'Young Driver Ambassador'. With the Group's support he qualified as an advanced driver in April 2018, passing the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving Test with a F1RST. Shortly afterwards Michael trained as a Local Observer, and now observes for the Gloucestershire Advanced Motorists group around the Cheltenham area.

Andrew is our Associate Coordinator and enjoys getting involved with the group stand at shows. Andrew is also National Observer, Masters qualified with Distinction and holds IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driver F1RST qualification.

Robert is an IAM Advanced Driver (since 2002). And holds a National Observer qualification. Before moving to Gloucestershire in November 2016, he was a Tutor for Cornwall Advanced Motorists where he is a Life Member. For five years he worked for Devon and Cornwall Police as a Civilian Driver where he qualified to drive a variety of Police vehicles. He is now a civilian driver for Gloucestershire police.

Richard is a National Observer and a qualified Masters driver. Richard has incredible driving experience - including driving classic cars for weddings. Richard took his IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving Test, taking home the highest level, a F1RST.

Keeping yourself and other road users safe by applying the Advanced Driving techniques of the Police system of car control to driving on Gloucestershire's Rural and Country Roads.

Rod is our Group Chairman on the Committee. Rod is involved in all aspects of running our group, including attending and running our stands at shows and events we attend. Rod is also a Local Observer Assessor, Masters Mentor, National Observer, and Masters qualified with Distinction.

Matt is a Trainee Local Observer and ready to help you achieve your driving goals. Matt's driving experience is extensive - including driving (and owning) a series of classic and modern vehicles (mostly Jaguar!). Matt took his IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving Test, taking home the highest level of pass, a F1RST.

Mel is a National Observer for Gloucestershire Advanced Motorists and Group Editor on the Committee. Mel is also an ADI and has a background in coaching on the road, 1:1, and in the classroom. A self-professed petrol-head, Mel is involved in all things motoring, including photography.

Taking my Advanced Driving Test was more than including the possibility of cheaper insurance, which at the time was much needed. The course gave me a focus, confidence driving, career goals, and something to volunteer for - and it gave me a new extended family!
